TapeCase Polyimide Tape 1B features a 1 mil polyimide backing coated with a high temperature silicone adhesive designed for demanding masking and electrical insulating applications. It provides excellent mechanical and electrical properties, along with dimensional stability in harsh environments. The polyimide backing is thin and highly conformable while offering strong resistance to cut through, impact, and abrasion. Engineered to withstand temperatures up to 500°F (260°C), Polyimide Tape 1B maintains reliable adhesion and removes cleanly after exposure to heat and chemicals. Common applications include high temperature protection of PCB gold fingers during wave solder or solder dip processes, thermal shielding of sensitive components, and high temperature electrical insulation for coils, capacitors, transformers, battery pack leads, and magnet wire. It is widely used in the electronics, electrical, automotive/EV, and aerospace industries where dependable performance is critical. The 1B series is UL Recognized (UL File# E 244657) and meets MIL- P - 461112B / ASTM D 5213, Type 1, Item A.

A linered version, B Linered, is also available to support die-cut applications.
